Attack!
Martial Eagle - Serengeti. we where watching this Eagle as four Guinea fowl took refuge in a thorn tree in front of us. They were safe as long as they stayed in the tree, but as each one lost its nerve and flew away one by one, the Eagle become more focussed and seemed to know when the last one would attempt its getaway only to swoop down and catch it in flight no more than 40 metres from where we sat. I kept this Eagle in my viewfinder and was lucky to be fast enough when it took off to get the shot. The panning type effect in this image was accidental but seems to work quite well.
